Sunday, June 5, 2011 gave the Pittsboro Skatepark Committee another chance to give Pittsboro residents a taste of the positive impact that bringing a skatepark to the area would have on kids and parents alike. There was a wonderful turnout on East Salisbury St. where several ramps and street obstacles were available for anyone to use during Pittsboro’s First Sunday event. People on the sidelines cheered for the novice skaters learning to turn on a ramp and the experienced skaters doing back to back tricks alike. Kids and adults of all ages joined in the fun to help raise awareness, support, and interest in the hopes of a future skatepark.
